Yevgeny Konovalov, rights defender and entrepreneur, beaten near Krasnodar

Yevgeny Konovalov, a Krasnodar human rights activist and a member of the public movement "All people are equal before the law", was hospitalized to the intensive care unit of the territorial clinical hospital after a severe beating.

It happened at night on October 12 at his summer house, located in a suburb of Krasnodar, along the Rostov Highway. He was found by his wife - Galina Konovalova - beaten and sitting in his chair on the terrace.

"He was all black, in clotted blood with his torn-off ear; his forehead was cut to the bone," the "Novaya Gazeta" quotes Galina.

Yevgeny was diagnosed skull fractures, broken clavicle and lower jaw, an intracerebral haematoma, brain contusion, and bilateral pneumothorax (accumulation of air in the lungs, which makes breathing difficult).

His relatives see the reason of the attack in the case of seizure of the company "Promavtomatika-Invest", owned by Yevgeny Konovalov, the "Zhivaya Kuban" writes.
