During the six months of this year, the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) in Dagestan registered 96 reports of kidnappings. Of these, 72 are complaints of parents of girls, abducted for marriage. The statistics of kidnappings in Dagestan, published by human rights defenders at the forum in Vladikavkaz, differs from the data available to law enforcement agents.

Yesterday, on September 4, residents of the village of Utsmiyurt of the Babayurt District of Dagestan blocked the highway Kizlyar-Babayurt, demanding to build a new school in the village. According to the pupils' parents, the modular school, in which their children are studying, is not suitable for lessons. The highway was unblocked; however, the today's lessons in school were cancelled.

Today, in Makhachkala, the central square in front of the complex of buildings of Dagestani government, gathered relatives and friends of Sirajuddin Khasaev, who on September 3 was repeatedly kidnapped by unidentified armed men straight out of the hospital. The gathered relatives demand that the authorities should find the whereabouts of the kidnapped man. This was reported by his wife Zaira Khasaeva.

On September, 3, a meeting was held in Moscow near the Russian State University (RSU) of Oil and Gas named after Gubkin under the slogan "We are different but we are all together against terrorism". Another convict Ali Khazbiev, a brother of Magomed Khazbiev, an Ingush oppositionist, an activist of the "PARNAS" Party, remains in custody and receives medical treatment at the Republic's Clinical Hospital.
