American experts ready with plan of mass evacuation of athletes from Sochi

As reported by The USA Today, the States have drafted a plan of evacuation of US athletes in case of an emergency or threat of terror act during the Olympic Games in Sochi.

A contract on ensuring safety of the US athletes during the 2014 Games was signed by the US Alpine Skiing Federation and the Private Security Company "Global Rescue".

According to USA Today website, under the contract, the "Global Rescue" will have to keep five aircrafts in the readiness mode, if an emergency evacuation of the US delegation from Sochi is needed.

The website quotes Dan Richards, the boss of the above company, who said that the Association had for the first time during their cooperation that started in 2006 decided to take such measures.

On January 7, the most stringent in the history of Olympic Games security measures were introduced in Sochi.

In this regard, on the order of Russian authorities, Sochi will use drones, surface-to-air missiles and over 37,000 policemen and soldiers. Surveillance will be also conducted by satellites, the AFP Agency reports.
