Russian military experts: in preventing terror acts at Olympic Games, Russia to receive only informational assistance from USA

In preventing terror acts on the eve of the Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia can receive only informational assistance from the Pentagon. This was reported by Alexander Goltz, a military expert, a deputy editor of the online publication "The Daily Journal", when he commented on the information about the offer of the US Department of Defence to provide appropriate assistance to the Russian Federation.

"The USA perfectly extracts and controls the information. For sure, in the giant mass of received data processed daily by the Pentagon, there is something that has to do with Northern Caucasus," Alexander Goltz believes.

The same opinion is shared by resigned Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Perendjiev, an expert of the Association of Military Political Analysts, Associate Professor of Political Science and Sociology of the Russian Economic University named after Plekhanov. According to Alexander Perendjiev, the Pentagon and the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) have long established the dialogue, although the information is not for public dissemination.

Meanwhile, the political analyst believes a situation may occur when American experts have the information about a possible plotting terror act in Sochi and fail to pass the appropriate data to their Russian colleagues.

"I believe this is most likely a kind of 'bargaining'. To some extent, this is a political game. We should clearly understand that the Russian side will be solely responsible for an incident, a terror act or a murder, regardless of whether Russia admits the help of the United States or does not," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Alexander Perendjiev.
