Construction of alternative road to Kurortny Avenue in Sochi causes great inconveniences to locals

In Sochi, construction of alternative road for Kurortny Avenue caused great inconvenience: some sections of the road have no sidewalks, and roadway passes directly in front of windows of residential buildings. This was reported by local residents.

Let us remind you that on January 6, the "Rosavtodor" (Federal Road Agency of the Russian Ministry of Transportation) reported that on January 7, the second and the third sections of the alternative road for Kurortny Avenue in Sochi would be opened for movement of private vehicles.

"The construction has damaged our sewage system and heating and electricity supply systems. For three years, builders run the show in our territory, without giving us a minute to relax. Meanwhile, no one of officials thought about resettling us or providing us with compensation. We were just separated from the road by a fence," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Marina Solovyova, a resident of a house located in Titov Street.

According to Elena Sirotkina, another resident, sidewalks were removed during construction of the road.

"How our children should go to school? How adults should walk? How this arterial road project could pass the state examination, since the road was built between the apartment buildings and it has no sidewalks?" Elena Sirotkina asks.

"Builders of the alternative road cut down our green area. The road is located so close to the house that when the work were carried out and when the vehicles started driving on it, we got an impression that our house was about to collapse," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Alexei Baranov, a member of the House Committee of No. 66 in Gagarin Street.

The activist believes that, according to all sanitary norms, tenants of the house were to be resettled to another building; however, the builders supposedly saved money on the health of citizens.
