Azerbaijani border guard injured on border with Iran

On October 12, a man who tried to illegally cross a border with Iran, wounded a border guard with a knife, reported the State Border Guard Service of Azerbaijan. Border guards discovered that the detained violator was carrying a batch of drugs.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 2, the Azerbaijani State Border Guard Service reported killing three violators on the border with Iran. According to the Border Guard Service, when offered to stop, the suspects opened fire on border guards. The suspects were carrying 15 kilograms of drugs.

On October 12, another incident on the Azerbaijani-Iranian border occurred near the village of Bala Bakhmanli in the Fizuli District. In the thicket of reeds, border guards saw a violator who came from the Iranian side. A 29-year-old resident of the Terter District wounded one of the border guards with a knife, the "ONA" reports.

It should be noted that on July 27, one of the border guards involved in detention of armed smugglers with drugs got a gunshot wound on the same section of the border. Earlier, on March 10, in a shootout on the border near the village of Bala Bakhmanli, Junior Sergeant Sakhavat Mamedov was killed and Vidadi Djabrailov, a fighter of the Border Guard Service, was wounded.
