Residents of the city of Baksan, Kabardino-Balkaria, have addressed their letter to President of Kabardino-Balkaria Arsen Kanokov, Ombudsman Boris Zumakulov and Head of Public Human Rights Centre Valery Khatazhukov. They ask for help that their sons, who are wanted, were not killed, but arrested alive and tried according to Russian laws depending on the degree of their guilt.

One law enforcement officer perished and ten of his colleagues were wounded during a special operation aimed to search a militant conducted in Chechnya since September 24. This was reported by the Investigatory Department (ID) for Chechnya of the Russian ICPO (Investigatory Committee at the Prosecutor's Office). Local experts believe that the large-scale operation was a sort of Kadyrov's response to the militants' attack on Tsentoroi village, Kurchaloi District, in late August.

On September 7, in Ekazhevo village, Nazran District of Ingushetia, agents of some unidentified power agency kidnapped Rustam Maksharipovich Dzeitov, born in 1982. This was stated by his brother Ruslan Dzeitov, who has addressed today his written application to the representative office of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" in Nazran.

Today, the Khamovniki Court of Moscow continued the trial under the slander claim lodged by Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov against Oleg Orlov, head of the HRC "Memorial". The court listened to evidences of Tamara Kagirova, a member of the Public Chamber of Chechnya. The other declared witness of the prosecution - Human Rights Ombudsman Nurdi Nukhazhiev - failed to appear in the courtroom.

In the South-West of Chechnya Said-Arbi Tsurayev, a local resident, a famous singer's brother, was detained for suspicion of involvement in armed underground's activities, according to the information from his relations who are sure of his innocence.
