Scandalous video from an excursion in Derbent results in dismissal of guide
A female guide was dismissed from a museum-reserve in Derbent after a public apology for the unceremonious mention of an archaeologist to tourists. Court upholds refusal to initiate a case on torture of Khumaid Khaidaev
The Kirov District Court of Irkutsk has found legitimate the refusal to initiate a torture case of Khumaid Khaidaev, a native of Chechnya, who was tortured in a SIZO (pre-trial prison) after a prisoners' riot in a local colony. This court refusal will be appealed against, human rights defenders have stated.

Police search a house of parents of “Fortanga” editor-in-chief in Sunzha

Religious activist sentenced to six years of imprisonment in Azerbaijan
The Baku Court on Grave Crimes sentenced religious activist Fagan Mamedov to six years of imprisonment after finding him guilty of drug trafficking. Fagan Mamedov called the criminal case fabricated. His advocate stated that the activist’s guilt had not been proven.
