Relatives of a Karachay-Cherkessia resident claim he was tortured by security forces

A resident of Karachay-Cherkessia was subjected to torture and sexual violence in a law enforcement agency department, his relatives said, demanding that the actions of the security forces be investigated.

31-year-old resident of the village of Pregradnaya Sergei was detained after a fight with two young men. His relatives reported that the reason for the conflict was an object thrown onto Sergei's property, which exploded. As a result, one of the young men fled, the second was hospitalized, reports "Caution, News".

According to Sergei's relatives, in the law enforcement agency department, he was kicked, pulled by the hair, strangled and threatened with sexual violence. Also, one of the security officers inserted a baton into the detainee's anus, stepped on his genitals and strangled him. A bag was put on his head and Sergei lost consciousness.

According to Sergey's relatives, the security forces demanded that he confess to the murder, laughed at his faith (Judaism) and, under the threat of physical and sexual violence, forced him to sing songs about "operatives" and God, filming it all on video.

An examination at the Urupskaya District Hospital recorded multiple hematomas all over his body (the doctor's report is attached to the publication - note from "Caucasian Knot").

Sergey is currently at home. His family filed complaints with the Prosecutor General's Office and the Investigative Committee asking them to investigate the actions of the security forces
