7700 people blocked by mudflow in Elbrus Region
A mudflow which has occurred this night has cordoned off five villages, dozens of hotels and tourist centres of the Elbrus Region and cut them off the outside world. The number of cordoned off tourists reaches 1500. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by a source from the Elbrus Region close to the situation.

Salim Akhobekov asks to stop prosecuting him for dancing in Gelendzhik
Salim Akhobekov from Kabardino-Balkaria, who had served five days of arrest for dancing lezginka in Gelendzhik, addressed rights defenders with a complaint about the actions of the Cossacks and policemen. Azerbaijani believers start celebrating Eid al-Adha
Today, Azerbaijan, like the whole Muslim world, has started the celebration of Eid al-Adha. Muslims of the country make sacrifices of small and large cattle. Mosques hold festive prayers. Rights defenders organize action in defence of singer Zelimkhan Bakaev
Rights defenders and activists from Russia, the US, and the European countries have organized an action under hashtag #BringBakaevBack with the demand to find out the whereabouts of Chechen singer Zelimkhan Bakaev. On their pages in Facebook, participants of the action declare they have no doubt that the singer was kidnapped.

Residents of Chechnya complain about rise in prices on eve of Eid al-Adha

In Volgograd, solo picketers demand resignation of City Mayor
On August 31, in Volgograd, activists held three solo pickets within the All-Russia action "Strategy-31". The picketers came out in defence of Article 31 of the Russian Constitution and demanded the resignation of Mayor Vitaly Likhachov after the city administration refused to sanction pickets to be held in the city centre on August 31.

Defence asks Kadyrov to study the case of Taramov and Tazbiev
Khava Akhmadova, an advocate for Magomed Taramov and Djamalai Tazbiev, residents of the village of Krasnaya Turbina, told the "Caucasian Knot" today that there are procedural violations in the case. "Beslan Mothers" ask ECtHR not to review recovery of compensations from Russia
