RFU enforced penalties against the football club "Anji"
Today, the Control and Disciplinary Committee (CDC) of the Russian Football Union (RFU) has fined the football club (FC) "Anji" by 600 thousand roubles for failing to ensure order during the match with the FC "Zenit". In case of repeated violations the football club from the city of Makhachkala will have to play two matches on a neutral field, the RFU's official website reports.

Constitutional Court of Georgia received lawsuit against unconstitutionality of Criminal Code's Article on espionage
On August 3 the Constitutional Court of Georgia has registered the lawsuit on declaring unconstitutional Article 314 of the Criminal Code of Georgia ("espionage"). According to the authors of the lawsuit, the unclear expressions in the above article gave the Georgian authorities a right to arrest the photographers accused of espionage for Russia.

Jury to consider case on Sviridov's murder was formed
The Moscow City Court has formed the jury for the case on the murder of Yegor Sviridov, a fan of the football club "Spartak", who was killed last December in Moscow. According to the press service of the court, the jury consists of 12 main jurors and eight substitute jurors.

Refugees in Georgia, evicted from TACs in Tbilisi, hope for UN's assistance
On August 2 the internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Abkhazia and South Ossetia obtained a meeting at the Tbilisi Office of the United Nations. Now they hope that the UN will listen to their demands to stop their eviction from the temporary accommodation centres (TACs) in Tbilisi. According to experts, the demand to draw the attention of the Georgian UN office to the refugees' problem is well-timed.

In Dagestan, rights defenders demand to stop criminal prosecution against lawyer Sapiyat Magomedova
Russian authorities should immediately stop the criminal prosecution against the well-known Dagestani lawyer Sapiyat Magomedova and bring to justice the police officers for physical violence against the lawyer. This was declared by the international human rights organization Human Rights Watch (HRW), commenting on the information about filing charges against Magomedova.
