Court hearing on Nalchik attack case postponed because of advocate's illness

On June 20, at the trial on the case of the attack on Nalchik, the session was not held due to the illness of one of the lawyers. The session was postponed to June 24. At the previous session on June 18, the defence continued presenting its proofs.

At the session on June 18, the defendant Daniil Khamukov moved a motion asking to recognize several protocols inadmissible as evidence in the criminal case. According to his version, it follows from the protocols that the exhibits – ammunition and an SKS carbine – was confiscated in the vicinity of Centre "T", who was attacked by militants; however, the protocols of inspection of the venue did not mention these exhibits.

The court held that the defendant's arguments relate to the assessment of the evidence and dismissed his motion.

Let us remind you that on April 30 this year, the MIA of Kabardino-Balkaria and the Centre "T" moved a solidary civil action to the defendants for the total sum of more than 22 million roubles.

The lawyer Alim Bittirov asked who had reimbursed the harm to the victims. The representatives of the suffered party explained that the entire harm was reimbursed from the federal budget. The lawyer said that in this case the Russian Treasury should be the claimant. Meanwhile, as it was revealed from questioning the victims, they had no authority to represent the Russia's Ministry of Finance.
