On eve of Eid al-Fitr, Chechnya enhances security measures

Chechen woman suspected of financing members of Gakaev brothers' IAF
A female resident of the Vedeno District of Chechnya is to appear before the court on charges of financing members of the illegal armed formations (IAFs) that were parts of the Gakaev brothers' grouping. Earlier, investigators have already instituted and stopped criminal proceedings against the woman. However, the investigation was reopened at the request of the Prosecutor's Office.

FSB: about 40 Ukrainian border guards get to Russia across Rostov section of Russian-Ukrainian border

Georgia protests against "KaZantip" Festival
In Tbilisi, about 200 people participated today in a protest action held in front of government office, demanding from the authorities to prohibit the "KaZantip" Festival in Georgia. The protesters gathered signatures to the petition and plan to hand it over on July 28 to the government office.

Chechen authorities impose sanctions on five US and EU officials

Adzinov: 287 Ukrainian refugees have applied for temporary shelter in Volgograd Region
The Volgograd Regional Department of the Russian Federal Migration Service (FNS) has registered about 5,500 citizens of Ukraine, but as on July 25 only 287 of them had applied for temporary shelter, Kirill Adzinov, the head of the FMS Department, said during a press conference on July 25.

Chechen residents report sharp rise in food prices on the eve of 'Id al-Fitr (Uraza-Bayram)
Foodstuffs in Chechen marketplaces have become much more expensive on the eve of the completion of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, as local residents told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. Entrepreneurs say that prices were lifted by wholesalers; and retailers are forced to sell food products more expensive, in order not to remain at a loss.

Azerbaijan: teen hospitalized from Karabakh conflict zone with gunshot wound
Farid Mamedov, a minor resident of the village of Alibeili, Tovuz District of Azerbaijan, was wounded by gunfire from the positions of Armenian troops and hospitalized to the hospital in Baku, its doctors have reported today. Law enforcers of Ukraine and Russia exchange accusations of shelling pre-border areas
The Ukrainian border checkpoint "Marinovka" was shelled from the territory of the Rostov Region, said the information centre of the National Security and Defence Council (NSDC) of Ukraine. Regular soldier from Kirov Region found dead in Dagestan
Alexei Aleturovich, a regular soldier, recruited from the Kirov Region, was found dead in a military unit in Buynaksk, the military prosecutor's office of the city has reported today. His relatives believe that Alexei could become a victim to the hazing in the army unit.

Anti-Israel protesters detained in Baku

Rostov regional authorities decide to move refugees' TAC farther from Ukrainian border
