In Akhtubinsk, hunger-strikers and Communists hold rally in support of "Akhtuba ATP"

Today, in Akhtubinsk, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) has held a rally demanding to maintain the municipal enterprise "Akhtuba ATP" (auto transport company). Besides, the rally also supported the employees of the "Akhtuba ATP" who had declared a hunger strike.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 19, seven employees of the "Akhtuba ATP" declared a hunger strike demanding to repay the debts on wages and other benefits.

The rally started at 10:00 a.m. Moscow time in Lenin Square and lasted for about 50 minutes. The protest action, organized by the CPRF, was attended by about 100 people, including the hunger-strikers. This was reported by members of the CPRF.

Deputies of the regional and municipal levels and residents of the city of Akhtubinsk delivered their speeches at the rally. The speakers have mentioned that enterprises go bankrupt in the city and a lot of manufacturing plants disappeared.

At the rally, people were holding in their hands the posters reading: "Down with thieves from Mayor's Office!", "We won't let ATP go bankrupt", and "Prosecutor's Office, protect ATP against arbitrariness of officials!", the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The resolution of the rally has been adopted unanimously by the voting, and it demands from the higher authorities to "dismiss the Mayor immediately."
