In Armenia, about 500 people attend action of opponents of constitutional reforms

Today, Freedom Square in Yerevan has hosted a sanctioned rally of opponents of the constitutional reforms. The initiative group "You won't deceive us!", which organized the action, called on the Armenian authorities to abandon the idea to carry out the constitutional reforms in the country. According to the organizers, about 500 people took part in the rally and the march along the central streets of Yerevan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 12, opponents of the constitutional reforms in Armenia signed an agreement on the united front "No!" The alliance was initiated by the initiative group "You won't deceive us!"

The participants of the protest action chanted slogans: "Let's say 'No' to reproduction of power" and "You won't deceive us". The protestors called on to unite all the supporters of the front "No".

"In Armenia, the opposition parties will be able to achieve change of power only if they act as a united front," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Armen Martirosyan, Deputy Chairman of the "Heritage" Party.

According to Armen Martirosyan, in order to achieve this goal, the opposition should initially prevent the authorities from carrying out the constitutional reform.

Aram Manukyan, the secretary of the ANC faction, President Serzh Sargsyan is trying to retain power in his hands with the help of the constitutional reform.

The politician treats the project of the constitutional reform as something thoughtless. According to him, the constitutional reform can be prevented only by the combined efforts of the opposition and the society.
