Ramazan Djalaldinov, who on April 14 published a video appeal to Vladimir Putin concerning the situation faced by residents of the Chechen village of Kenkhi, announced no intention to leave Russia. He has also reported that after him, eight other persons dissatisfied with the situation in Kenkhi left the village.

On May 20, a new rural gathering held in the village of Kenkhi, local residents have again publicly condemned Ramazan Djalaldinov, who complained to Vladimir Putin about corruption. An appeal was sent to the Russian President on behalf of the villagers. The appeal referred to attempts to foment ethnic hatred in the village of Kenkhi.

The Supreme Court of the Chechen Republic, which listened how the jury had pronounced the verdict of guilty against Ukrainian citizens Nikolai Karpyuk and Stanislav Klykh, extended their detention in custody until August 27. Their defenders intend to challenge the decision and the oncoming verdict against their clients.

Petro Poroshenko has condemned the jury's verdict passed in Grozny to Nikolai Karpyuk and Stanislav Klykh and promised to struggle for their release. If Karpyuk gets a life sentence, it will complicate his transfer to Ukraine, said the advocate Mark Feigin, who had defended Nadezhda Savchenko.

The Presnya Court of Moscow has arrested Yuri Chabuev, who held the post of the director of the Khovanskoye cemetery, where a mass fight occurred. Lechi Yakhyaev, a native of the Astrakhan Region, was also arrested. He became the 14th person arrested in the criminal case opened on the fight.

A delegation from Dagestan has visited the Chechen village of Kenkhi on the order of Ramazan Abdulatipov, the leader of the republic; no violations of villagers' rights were fixed, the Dagestani leadership has stated. The head of Dagestan instructed his subordinates to study a possibility of providing temporary housing to Djalaldinov's family, which has left Chechnya.
