Five persons detained under case on attack on Grozny checkpoint
Employees of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Chechnya have detained five alleged accomplices of Shamil Djanaraliev, who was killed in an attack on a checkpoint in Grozny.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 9, six policemen were wounded in the attack of armed men at a checkpoint in the Grozny District. According to investigators, one of the attackers committed a self-explosion, and the second one was shot dead by power agents. The attackers were identified as the 28-year-old Shamil Djanaraliev and the 25-year-old Akhmed Inalov.
Employees of the Chief Department (ChD) of the MIA for the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) and of the Department for Chechnya of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) have detained five persons suspected of involvement in the attack on the checkpoint in Grozny, the press service of the ChD of the MIA for the NCFD has reported today.
"According to investigators, all of them were members of the illegal armed formation (IAF), led by Shamil Djanaraliev," says the message posted on the website of the ChD.
"The detainees are already giving confessions," says the press service of the ChD of the MIA.
