A 29-year-old Shakhnazar Kazakov was kidnapped by power agents in early June in Moscow and delivered to Grozny, his relatives assert. According to Kazakov himself, he was detained because of his Muslim marriage to a Chechen girl; and he is now in Grozny, awaiting deportation.

The criminal case on the murder of politician Boris Nemtsov will be considered by a panel of jurors, who are to be selected on August 24. This decision has been pronounced by the Moscow District Military Court today. Thus, the Court has granted the motion filed by the defendants.

The international federation "United World Wrestling" will let Russian wrestlers, including athletes from the republics of Northern Caucasus, to participate in the 2016 Olympic Games. This was announced by the leaders of the Russian Wrestling Federation (RWF) after the International Olympic Committee (IOC) had decided to delegate to the federations the right to decide on the participation of athletes in the Olympic Games.

Today, in the centre of Kiev, journalist Pavel Sheremet has been killed in a car bombing. He was a well-known journalist, who worked in Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine. He is the author of the documentary film "The Chechen Diary" and the book "Saakashvili/Georgia. Dead Dreams". According to the preliminary version of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the car was blown up by an explosive device.
