Attack on militaries on January 9 in Grozny was preceded by check of their IDs by local power agents
New details appear in the case dealing with the attack on servicemen of the special regiment of the Russian Ministry of Defence, headed by Lieutenant Colonel Bislan Elimkhanov, committed in Grozny on January 9. Shortly before the attack on Elimkhanov, the convoy was stopped for inspection by the local power agents. Supposedly, at least two of the "inspectors" later suffered in the shooting that burst out later at the checkpoint of the military base in Khankala.

The freedom restriction measure of Nail Bikmaev, Imam of the Jami (Cathedral Mosque) of Rostov-on-Don, was changed under the personal security of his father, Mufti of the Rostov Region Dzhafar Bikmaev. This decision was made today at the sitting of the commission in charge of rendering assistance in adaptation to peaceful life to those persons who have decided to stop their terrorist and extremist activities, which is headed by Rizvan Kurbanov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Dagestan.

The Ukrainian authorities have satisfied Russia's request to extradite Vyacheslav Ryabtsev, one of the suspects of the murder of 12 persons committed in the village of Kuschevskaya, Krasnodar Territory, in November 2010. As reported by the official website of the Russian General Prosecutor's Office, now the date of Ryabtsev's extradition to Russia is agreed on.

Investigatory bodies have established involvement of seven persons, including Alexander Tikhomirov (Said Buryatskiy), in blowing up the "Neva-Express" Train in November 2009. All of them were killed in March 2010 in the Ingush village of Ekazhevo. This was reported by Vladimir Markin, spokesman of the Russia's Investigatory Committee (IC).

The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) has passed a decision on the complaint of the employee of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial", who worked with Natalia Estemirova. The complaint concerned abduction in 2003 in Grozny of a certain Gisaev by Russian militaries. The court has obliged Russia to pay a compensation of 55,000 euros for moral harm to the complainant and 1957 euros to his representatives for rendered legal services.

As stated by Nizam Radjabov, a spokesman from Dagestani investigatory bodies, the criminal investigation into the shooting on September 2, 2008, in Makhachkala of a journalist Abdullah (Telman) Alishaev, editor-in-chief of "Makhachkala-TV", was stopped because of the death of Vadim Butdaev who committed this crime. Vadim's sister, in her turn, believes that her brother was not involved in the murder.
