Head of Krasnoarmeiskiy District of Volgograd is suspected of abuse of power
As reported by the Investigatory Department (ID) for the Volgograd Region of the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation, a criminal case was initiated against Alexander Gorbunov, head of the administration of the Krasnoarmeiskiy District of Volgograd, and his deputy Roman Karatanov, suspected of abuse of office.
According to investigators, these officials demanded, in exchange of statement on allocation of a land plot for construction, from director of one of commercial companies to illuminate as decoration ten trees in the said territory - the operation that cost him 150,000 roubles.
"The entrepreneur was forced to agree with bureaucrats' demand; he concluded a contract with a specialized organization on decorative illumination of the above trees and presented the respective copies of the contract and payment documents to the administration," the "Interfax-South" quotes a source from the ID.
