He associates these events with his criticism of the authorities in the newspaper.

On June, 13, during a preparatory trial on the case of Dashgyn Melikov, youth activist of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), the judge rejected the motions of the defense for both termination of prosecution and putting the activist under house arrest. The defense is going to appeal to ECtHR against unlawful arrest already at this stage, lawyer Asabali Mustafaev declared.

As stated by the local Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), Ramzan Abdrakhmanov, 20, a resident of the Urus-Martan District of Chechnya, will stand trial for his public calls to terror acts. The police say that this is the first case in Chechnya, when a person will face justice for committing such a crime.

The journalist Khadija Ismailova, sentenced to public works in Azerbaijan, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the documents about her administrative offence had been drawn up illegally, because policemen wrote about what had never happened. Earlier, she was fined by 400 manats (about 510 US dollars), which Ismailova had refused to pay.

According to the Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), on June 11, two terror acts were prevented in Dagestan. The Committee reports that two "suicide belts" similar to those found in the republic on June 7, were neutralized in Makhachkala and Kaspiisk.
