Irganai villagers demand fair compensations for their lands
The residents of the villages whose garden plots fell into the flooding zone of the Irganai hydroelectric power station (HPP) have lost their chances to earn money; and many of them have to search employment for from home, villagers assert. Some Irganai villagers have received 9200 roubles per hundred square meters of their land plots, but this is a very low compensation.

Police stop protest rally in Baku
More than 20 people were detained at a protest rally, the participants of which demanded the opening of land borders, the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent reported from the scene. Forced migrants' families begin returning to Zangilan District
A total of 1357 out of 1457 internally displaced persons (IDPs, or forced migrants) have expressed their desire to return to the village of Agaly in the Zangilan District, which, following the results of the 2020 autumn war, came under Azerbaijan's control. At the first stage, it is planned to move 41 families; ten families have already done it.

Askhabov's case draws attention to rehabs' uncertain status

Eleven residents of Reduktorny settlement detained at a protest against blackouts

Political analysts treat Georgian authorities' situation on "deoligarchization" as hopeless
Bidzina Ivanishvili, a Georgian oligarch, has managed to export his huge capitals from Russia, and in exchange for this he could take on the commitment to promote the pro-Russian agenda in Georgia. The “Caucasian Knot" publishes the agreement on the establishment of peace and interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which was initialed by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on August 8, 2025, through the mediation of US President Donald Trump. The meeting of Trump, Aliyev and Pashinyan took place on August 8 in Washington. Following the meeting, Pashinyan and Aliyev also signed a joint declaration.
