Melikov ordered an investigation into officials over illegal construction in Verkhniy Gunib

At a meeting on current issues, Melikov demanded that the illegal construction in the Upper Gunib Nature Park be sorted out.

As reported by "Kavkazsky Uzel", residents of the village of Khutnib in the Gunibsky District recorded a video message in which they stated that they were planning to hold a meeting on August 31, at which they would voice reports of corruption in the district in connection with the alienation of agricultural land. The villagers repeatedly contacted the authorities of the district and Dagestan and law enforcement agencies, but in response they only received formal replies.

Sergey Melikov published the results of an inspection of the situation with the construction of a specially protected natural area. We are talking about a multi-story building that is being erected on a forest plot in the Gunibsky district, the Administration of the Head of the Republic of Dagestan reports on its Telegram channel.

According to the head of Dagestan, the project initially envisaged the development of a sports complex for children's teams. The plot was leased for the construction of non-capital structures. "However, instead of light buildings, the tenant began to erect a three-story building with an attic and a basement on a monolithic frame. Its area - 960 sq. m. - is twice as large as permitted by the project," he said during the meeting.

Sergey Melikov was outraged by the inaction of the competent authorities: neither the district administration nor the supervisory agencies have responded to the construction since 2024. "The Ministry of Natural Resources of Dagestan and the park's management filed a lawsuit in May of this year. However, no interim measures were filed in court, no examination was initiated, and therefore no court decision was made, and construction continues," the head of Dagestan emphasized.

An official investigation has been ordered into the inaction of officials of the Gunibsky District administration, as well as to find those responsible for the inaction to protect the territory. The Forestry Committee of the Republic of Dagestan has also been instructed to find out how forest lands ended up being leased for development and to assess the effectiveness of their use.

Earlier, "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote that at least three petitions demanding that the transfer of the Verkhniy Gunib children's sanatorium from the Dagestan Ministry of Health to the republic's Ministry of Tourism be prevented were published online, and they collected more than 6,000 signatures. A deputy from the Gunibsky District called for refusing to transfer the children's sanatorium to the Ministry of Tourism. The head of the department objected that the question was purely formal and would not affect the work of the institution. On May 29, the head of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov, said that nothing would happen to the sanatorium, , it would develop, and the activists were spreading hostile information. At the same time, Melikov did not touch on the topic of the development of Gunib, which has been going on for more than one year.
