Ten residents of Ingushetia and two of Chechnya, kept at the pre-trial detention facility (SIZO) in the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria, are on full hunger strike since October 21.

Mass wood felling registered in Sochi National Park

363 trees have been cut down in the Sochi National Park, on the Grushevoy Ridge, in the vicinity Senokosnaya Meadow. The Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus reports, that the area, where trees were cut, makes several hectares.

Armenian courts to consider cases of 104 participants of March 1 events

Eighty-nine criminal cases in relation to 104 participants of the events on March 1 in Yerevan have been already sent to courts; this is the result of the six-month-long investigation. Now, seven persons are in pre-trial custody. This was reported by Agvan Ovsepyan, General Public Prosecutor of Armenia, during his meeting with Silva Zege, special representative of Secretary General of the Council of Europe.

The information that human rights activist Mustapa Abdurakhmanov was found shot dead in Makhachkala is incorrect, reports the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan.
