Public order in Stavropol will be guarded by a volunteer public order squad

On the initiative of the townsmen, units of a volunteer public order squad will be working in the territories of districts, neighbourhoods and blocks of flats in Stavropol, Press service of the municipal administration reports.

"A Statute of Volunteer public order squad of Stavropol will be accepted in the nearest future, Denis Alpatov, head of the Council of public security of the city said. - And the residents who enter the squad will be able to control independently the situation in the territory of the city, take direct part in safeguarding and support of not only law and order but also due sanitary state of the capital of the region".

According to the information from Press service of the Mayor's office, all the "law-abiding adult citizens able by their moral qualities, physical training and state of health to implement the objectives put before the squad" will get a possibility to enter the units. Members will be entrusted the functions of safeguarding public order in the streets, public areas and the places of mass actions as well as prevention and suppression of delinquency and prophylactic work with persons disposed towards delinquency.

Members of the squad will also be obliged to assist special services in the spheres of civil defense, protection of the population and territories in emergency situations and support of fire safety, rescuing people and property and safeguarding public order in case of natural calamities and other emergency situations, the report runs. 

The officials of the administration emphasize that it will be mandatory for the members of the volunteer public order squad to undergo legal and special training, study legislation in force, legal texts regulating the guard of law and order, forms and methods of work of the public order squad, rendering first medical aid, the use of technical devices in cases stipulated by the legislation.

"Administration of Stavropol, in its turn, accepts the responsibility of the members' life, health and property insurance in connection with carrying out their functions on safeguarding public order in the city. The members of the squad who take active part in the struggle against delinquency will be awarded for account of the municipal budget already provided for this purpose", "Interfax-South" quotes Alpatov's statement.

Meanwhile, a Statute of municipal Cossack squad of Stavropol is under consideration of the deputies of Stavropol Municipal Duma, "ATV-Stavropol" TV Company reports.
