Sochi rights defender demands to justify treating SHRC as “foreign agent”
The Russia’s Ministry of Justice (MoJ) demands to fine the Krasnodar public organization "Southern Human Rights Centre" (SHRC) for its failure to get registered in the registry of “foreign agents”. The MoJ calls its activities political; however, fails to provide evidence that the Centre is funded from abroad, said Semyon Simonov, the Chairman of the Centre.

Over 200 Azerbaijani migrants detained in Derbent
205 Azerbaijani citizens were detained during a raid of the Federal Migration Service (FMS) in Derbent and are kept for four days in the gym of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan.

Prison hospital administration does not allow MPs to visit Arthur Sargsyan on hunger strike in Armenia
The administration of the Yerevan prison hospital did not allow MPs to visit the ward of Arthur Sargsyan, who declared hunger strike and who was accused of supporting members of the group "Sasna Tsrer" (Daredevils of Sassoun). MP Edmond Marukyan called those actions illegal.

"Novaya Gazeta": law enforcers fail to explain discrepancies in case of shepherds killed in Dagestan
Five months passed since the murder of Gasanguseinov brothers in the Dagestani village of Goor-Khindakh. However, the investigation into the case of the murder has not moved forward. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the young men were killed in a special operation, which was jointly carried out by the police and FSB agents. Meanwhile, the FSB has not confirmed the information. This was reported by the article "Our children were killed by mistake" prepared by Irina Gordienko and published today on the website of the newspaper "Novaya Gazeta".

Dagestani resident stabs teenager under instructions received from social network game

Zelimkhan Bakharchiev's father evicted from Chechnya buried in Ingushetia
Aslanbek Bakharchiev, the seriously ill father of suspected militant Zelimkhan Bakharchiev, expelled from a Chechen village, died in Kalmykia and was buried in Ingushetia. Geriev’s defence states protraction of examining his application on kidnapping
The recheck of the application of Zhalaudi Geriev, a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, about his kidnapping and use of violence last for a month already instead of 10 days prescribed by the law, said the advocate Alaudi Musaev. Participants of rally in KChR urge authorities to avoid bankruptcy of breeding farm

Staff of scientific centre accuses Makhachkala authorities of arbitrariness

118 observers registered for NKR’s referendum
The number of citizens of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), included in the voter lists for the referendum on the new Constitution draft, has exceeded 102,000, but it is not final, said the Central Election Commission (CEC).
