Countrymen of hijab dancer treat a scandal with her videos as a PR step for promotion

The actions of a young woman from North Ossetia, who posts in Instagram scandalous videos with dances in hijab, show more desire for PR steps rather than insolence, her countrymen suggest. The young woman does not face any danger in her homeland, believe the local Deputy Mufti and a journalist.

On December 11, 2017, a video with a young woman dancing in hijab posted on the Internet provoked sharp criticism in Dagestan. There were threats voiced against the young woman. The Instagram administration blocked the dancer's account at request of users. Today, her page became available again. Here is a new video published, in which the young woman in hijab drives a car and sings.

A story with the scandal may be the objective of the very idea of videos with dances in hijab. This opinion was voiced by believers from the Vladikavkaz community of Muslims interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Zarema, a student of the North-Ossetian State University, believes the author of the videos with dances in hijab is interested in "promotion" of the Internet account.

The young woman dancing in hijab does not face any danger in her homeland, believes Alikhan Khoranov, the editor-in-chief of the North-Ossetian portal "Hohag.com". "It is out of our traditions to use force against women," he has explained.

The behaviour of the young woman was also condemned in North Ossetia as "contradicting the Islamic ethics and Ossetian traditions," reported Ibragim Dzagurov, the Deputy Mufti of the republic.

Users of the Dagestani segment of the Internet have produced painful reaction to the videos with dances, since "such behaviour contradicts the principles of Islam," believes Arsen Yusupov, the editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Zamana".

It should be noted there are also the people who were surprised by the stormy reaction to the dancing young woman.
