Russian authorities allocate 2 million roubles to victims of Volgograd terror acts
The residents of the Volgograd Region, who suffered during the last year's terror acts, will receive compensations for their lost property. The Russian government has decided to allocate 2,047,000 roubles for the purpose.

"Musavat" Party states violations during municipal elections in Azerbaijan
In the course of the voting at the municipal elections in Azerbaijan violations were registered, the "Musavat" Party has stated. The most common violations were massive throw-ins of ballot papers by one voter and multiple voting of same people at different polling stations.

Number of houses of militants' families demolished in Chechnya reached 15, rights defenders report

All defendants in the case of the attack on Nalchik in October 2005 have been found guilty. Five of them received life sentences, and three were released in the courtroom, because their appointed punishment has expired, while they were in custody.

Authorities of Krasnodar Territory restrict flow of tourists to Sochi resorts
All the rooms and beds at ski resorts of Sochi have been booked for the New Year holidays; the demand is 1.5 times the proposal; therefore, the authorities of the Krasnodar Territory have to restrict the flow of tourists, said the Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak at a meeting of Russian Premier Dmitry Medvedev with his Deputies.

Fifteen Georgian NGOs demand revision of tapping law
Georgian NGOs are drafting a lawsuit to the Constitutional Court demanding to recognize one of the provisions of the law that regulates the mechanism of secret investigative activities unconstitutional. ICRF confirms death of two civilians during militants' attack on Grozny

Nobody lived in the house demolished by power agents in Chechen village of Koshkeldy
The house in the village of Koshkeldy, Gudermes District of Chechnya, belonging to a militant's family and demolished on December 19 was uninhabited, rights defenders from the Joint Mobile Group (JMG) told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. According to their version, the Shabanov family, who owned the house, left the country more than a year ago.
