Outcomes of elections in NKR recognized by all parties

Representatives of all the seven parties, which ran for parliamentary seats in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot", have stated their recognition of the election outcomes and have no plans to challenge them.

The voting took place on May 3, involving the three parties represented in the parliament of the NKR, and four oppositional parties. According to the Central Election Commission (CEC), the total voter turnout at the parliamentary elections was 70.6%.

The "Free Motherland" Party, which received 47.35% of the votes, has fully recognized the election outcomes, said Gagik Petrosyan, the head of the electoral headquarters of the party.

Vardges Bagiryan, the chairman of the Democratic Party of Artsakh (19.1% of the votes), also expressed refusal to challenge the election outcomes. He noted that his party "had hoped to win more votes."

The statement released by the ARF "Dashnaktsutyun" Party (18.81% of the votes) has treated the elections as "successful and democratic."

The election outcomes will not be challenged, said Ike Khanumyan, the chairman of the "National Revival" Party (5.38% of the votes).

The Communist Party of Artsakh, which has not conquered the five-percent barrier, but agreed with the election outcomes, is not going to lodge a complaint to the CEC.

The five-percent barrier was not conquered also by the "Peace and Revival" Party, whose leader Varujan Gabrielyan stated that his election office would not lodge any complaints on the election outcomes.

Meanwhile, the official Baku has stated that the elections held in the NKR on May 3 have no legal force and will not be recognized by Azerbaijan.
