New Georgian Govt presented to Parliament
The President of Georgia has presented a new staff of the Government for the approval of the Parliament; now, the sitting date of the extraordinary session of the Parliament is defined.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 1 the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili announced the names of the candidates for the Government. However, the president of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili postponed for a week signing of the document approving the new Government, which he received after the announcement of candidates.
The deadline for President's presenting the new Cabinet of Ministers to the Parliament was May 8. The administration of the Government and the Prime Minister of Georgia asked Giorgi Margvelashvili to accelerate the decision.
The fact of presenting the new Government to the Parliament for approval was confirmed by the presidential administration, the "InterpressNews" reports.
So far, the members of the new Government have not been announced.
Let us remind you that activists of the non-parliamentary opposition have asked the President of Georgia not to present the Cabinet of Ministers, compiled by Prime Minister Garibashvili, to the Parliament. Besides, the oppositional parties in the Parliament – the United National Movement (UNM) and the "Free Democrats" – stated their refusal to vote for the new Government of Georgia.
