Suspected militant killed and policeman wounded during CTO in Chechnya
Today in the morning, in the Sunzha District of Chechnya, an unidentified person opened fire at policemen: a special-force agent was wounded. The attacker was shot dead by response fire and was pre-identified as a member of the Makhauri grouping. The district was put under the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime.

Court reduces by one year prison term of Astrakhan ex-Mayor Stolyarov

Journalists begin returning to restored House of Press in Grozny
Today, Grozny reopens the House of Press, which was damaged during the special operation against militants on December 4. Journalists of "Molodyozhnaya Smena" (Youth Generation) have already returned to their offices in the building; the remaining tenants plan to do in the coming days, said a source from the Grozny administration. Passports are checked again in Chechen capital

Sochi ski resorts raise prices for New Year holidays by more than a third
For the period of the New Year holidays, the alpine resorts of the Krasnaya Polyana in Sochi have increased the cost of ski passes by an average of 30-40%. After searches in Dagestani village of Bayram Magomed Sulaev was detained
