One person killed in shootout in Dagestan
The village of Tagirkent-Kazmalyar, Magaramkent District, has been put under the counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime, the Russia's National Antiterrorism Committee (NAC) has reported today. According to a Dagestani law enforcement source, in the course of the CTO, power agents entered a shootout with some persons, who had opened fire on them from a blocked house.

Sentence to Karpyuk and Klykh upheld

Today, the Russian Supreme Court (SC) has started to consider an appeal filed against the verdict pronounced in the criminal case against Ukrainian citizens Nikolai Karpyuk and Stanislav Klykh, accused of involvement in the first Chechen war on the side of the militants.
