On February 1-7, one person was wounded in armed conflict in Northern Caucasus
During the week of February 1-7, 2021, during the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus, one person was wounded. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from open sources.
Detentions
On January 30, Kureish Djandigov, Islam Zhandigov and Adam Khashiev were detained in Ingushetia within the framework of the case on the terrorist community "Imarat Kavkaz", banned in Russia. Law enforcers captured the Djandigov brothers and Adam and took them away without explaining the detention reasons to their relatives. For almost 24 hours, detainees' relatives knew nothing about their whereabouts. Later, the advocate said that Adam was detained; he had a plaster cast on his leg – according to eyewitnesses, during the detention, law enforcers shot Adam in the leg. All the three were accused of participating in the terrorist organization. One of them showed a hideout where they kept firearms, ammunition and an improvised explosive device (IED).
On February 2, it became known that Akhmed Kabilov, who was detained on December 29, 2020, in Chechnya, is kept at the Grozny SIZO (pre-trial prison); he is charged with firearms possession. After Kabilov was found, his relatives cut off their contact with human rights defenders.
On February 5, in the Derbent District of Dagestan, law enforcers stopped the activities of a terrorist unit comprising two persons-members of an illegal armed formation (IAF); they were detained while seizing a hideout containing an IED, firearms and ammunition.
