FSB announces detention of members of a terrorist unit in Dagestan

In Dagestan, law enforcers found a hideout with weapons, improvised explosion devices (IEDs) and ammunition, and stopped the activities of a conspiratorial terrorist unit, by detaining two people, the republic's branch of the Russian FSB (Federal Security Bureau) has reported.

According to the branch, on February 5, in the course of their operative actions in the Derbent District, law enforcers have thwarted the activities of a "conspiratorial terrorist unit consisting of two people." "They have been detained while confiscating the hideout containing an IED, firearms and ammunition," the press service of the FSB branch has informed today.

The branch believes that the members of the unit had planned to commit a series of terrorist crimes, including attempts on lives of law enforcers and civilians.
