Four power agents wounded in special operation in Naur District of Chechnya

Four law enforcers involved in the special operation on January 1 in the village of Mekenskaya were slightly wounded. According to Chechen authorities, they were wounded by grenade fragments.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 1, the republic's authorities announced a murder, in the village of Mekenskaya, Naur District, of two members of the armed underground. One of them was identified as Musa Zavgaev, the leader of local militants. The other, according to the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), was Bashir Omarov, suspected of grave crimes. Several power agents were reported wounded during the operation.

According to latest data, four law enforcers were slightly injured in the operation, but they are all in capacity to perform their duties, says the website of the Chechen leader and the government.

Among the weapons and ammunition found at the scene of the special operation, there was the service submachine gun of the policeman killed earlier in the Naur District.

Let us remind you that according to the head of the republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, Zavgaev had been preparing a series of terror acts in Chechnya. Besides, it was reported that they were associated with the group directly involved in the militants’ attack on Grozny on December 4, 2014.
