On 25 September, the president of the International Federation for Human Rights (IFHR) Souyer Belassen attended the Moscow court sitting that was considering a suit of the Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov against the chairman of the Memorial Human Rights Center Oleg Orlov. After the sitting, the human rights activist gave her vision of this legal process and the overall situation with human rights in the Russian Federation.

Within the murder case of the Hero of Russia Ruslan Yamadaev, the Investigatory Committee at the Prosecutor's Office (ICPO) has interrogated Suleiman Geremeev, a cousin of Adam Delimkhanov, Deputy of the State Duma from Chechnya. As reported by an ICPO source, Geremeev was interrogated in Moscow as a witness.

Since this July, in Chechnya, human rights activists have registered about 30 arsons of houses of relatives of those, who were blamed as militants' helpers. The judicial hearings on the claim of President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov to the head of the HRC "Memorial" Oleg Orlov were postponed till October 6, as the judge and the claimant should watch the video record, presented by Orlov. Today, the Tver Court of Moscow has held its first hearing on the merits of the claim of President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov against Oleg Orlov, head of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial", on defence of honour, dignity and business reputation. The claim stems from Mr Orlov's statement that President of Chechnya is responsible for the kidnapping in Chechnya and murder of human rights defender Natalia Estemirova.
