At least two persons were killed and two more injured during the period from January 30 to February 5 in the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. These are the results of calculations made by the "Caucasian Knot", based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

Organizers of the rally "For Fair Elections" has sent to Mikhail Fedotov, Chief of the Council on Human Rights under the President of the Russian Federation, the list of 39 persons, whom they treat as prisoners for political reasons. Charges against six persons from the list are related to the events in Northern Caucasus and Southern Russia, and charges against other five persons are related to the riots in Manege Square in Moscow in December 2010.

On February 5, a 19-year-old resident of the city of Moscow, who was detained in Grozny on suspicion of intent to establish contacts with militants and commit a suicide bombing, was brought to Moscow. Local human right defenders treated with distrust the report of the Chechen law enforcement agencies on detention of the suspected woman-terrorist, announced after the message of Dokku Umarov, the leader of North-Caucasian militants, about stopping terrorist attacks against the civilian population.

Swedish authorities intend to deport to Russia Emilkhan Sadaev, the former ally of Aslan Maskhadov, President of the self-proclaimed Chechen Republic of Ichkeria. He had inflicted on himself injuries, and after that he was transferred to hospital. In particular, journalist Nadezhda Banchik reported on a suicide attempt.

As reported by a source from law enforcement bodies of Chechnya, the police have detained in Grozny a 20-year-old Muscovite, who, according to her story, had planned to get trained as a suicide bomber and subsequently commit a terror act in Moscow.

The operation aimed at finding the grouping of militants, which was detected on February 2 near the Chechen-Dagestani administrative border, has brought no results yet. Power agents do not exclude that the blocked militants could get out of the cordon. The special operation continues.

The Chechen law enforcement agencies have revealed the causes of a road accident, involving a military truck "Ural" in the north of the republic, which killed a local resident and injured seven power agents, that were security forces - is clear ice and wrong actions of the driver of the passenger car.

To determine the fates of persons disappeared and kidnapped during the war, Chechnya started working on collection of DNA from their relatives. According to official information, during the two military campaigns in Chechnya, lists of missing and kidnapped people contain about 5000 persons; however, according to human rights activists, the figure could be much higher.

In 2011, the birth rate in Chechnya was again significantly higher than the Russian national average, said the local Ministry of Public Health (MPH). In parallel with the birth rate growth, doctors state decrease of infant mortality against previous years. Meanwhile, a number of local women complain of corruption at maternity hospitals; however, the MPH does not confirm this information.
