11 persons from list of political prisoners sent to Kremlin were involved in events related to NCFD and SFD

Organizers of the rally "For Fair Elections" has sent to Mikhail Fedotov, Chief of the Council on Human Rights under the President of the Russian Federation, the list of 39 persons, whom they treat as prisoners for political reasons. Charges against six persons from the list are related to the events in Northern Caucasus and Southern Russia, and charges against other five persons are related to the riots in Manege Square in Moscow in December 2010.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the resolution demanding to release political prisoners was adopted by the participants of the oppositional action "For Fair Elections", which was held in Moscow on February 4 in Bolotnaya Square.

The final list of political prisoners contains 39 names. According to the human rights organization "Amnesty International" (AI), two persons from the list are also prisoners of conscience Mikhail Khodorkovsky and Platon Lebedev, the "Echo Moskvy" Radio reports. The list contains the names of convicted persons accused of crimes anyhow related to the events in Southern Russia and Northern Caucasus.

In particular, the list includes: Sergey Arakcheev, the officer of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), who fought in Chechnya, Mikhail Klevachev and Vladimir Vlasov, convicted on charges of blowing up the train "Grozny-Moscow", Igor Sokolov (born Idobaev), convicted for the attack on Budyonnovsk, Zara Murtalieva and Lors Khamiev, natives of Chechnya, accused of terrorism, and the figurants of the criminal case of the riots in Manege Square Igor Berezyuk, Kirill Unchuk, Ruslan Khubaev, Leonid Panin, and Alexander Kozevin.

Let us note that initially the oppositionists claimed that their list contained 40 persons. The content of the list has caused distrust among the nationalists, and they have made their list of 23 persons. The document was handed in to the organizing committee of the meeting "For Fair Elections" by Alexander Belov, one of the leaders of the ethnic and political movement "Russians", the website of the "Russian Public Movement" reports. The list of the names contained the names of Nikita Tikhonov and Eugenia Khasis, convicted for the murder of the lawyer Stanislav Markelov. However, their names were not included in the final document.

"Today, together with Olga Romanova, we handed in the list to Mikhail Fedotov, Chief of the Council on Human Rights under the President of the Russian Federation. He said that he knew some of the surnames and that they also had doubts concerning a number of the surnames," said Gennady Gudkov, the deputy of the State Duma from the faction "Spravedlivaya Rossiya" (Fair Russia). In his turn, the Chief of the Council on Human Rights reported that he would hand in the document to President Dmitry Medvedev, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

Let us remind you that on February 6, in the course of the meeting attended by political scientists, Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister and the candidate for the Russian presidency, said that Russia had no political prisoners. According to the Chairman of the Government, conducting of criminal amnesty in the nearest future is inadvisable, the "RBC" reports.
