Chechen MIA: failed suicide bomber, detained in Grozny, convoyed to Moscow

On February 5, a 19-year-old resident of the city of Moscow, who was detained in Grozny on suspicion of intent to establish contacts with militants and commit a suicide bombing, was brought to Moscow. Local human right defenders treated with distrust the report of the Chechen law enforcement agencies on detention of the suspected woman-terrorist, announced after the message of Dokku Umarov, the leader of North-Caucasian militants, about stopping terrorist attacks against the civilian population.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 3 the police detained in Grozny the 20-year-old woman-resident of Moscow, who, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), was planning to take training and become a suicide bomber and later to commit a terror act in Moscow.

Ruslan Alkhanov: failed woman-terrorist was pressed in Moscow

"During interrogation, she told investigators that she made the decision to become a suicide bomber after she had met in Moscow a woman, who advised her to go to Chechnya and receive training in the militants' camp," a Chechen policeman told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to the policeman, "the failed woman-terrorist is a student of one of the Moscow universities", and she arrived in Grozny by bus from Volgograd.

Ruslan Alkhanov, Chechen Minister of Internal Affairs, confirmed the information about the detention in Grozny of the woman-resident of Moscow, who intended to become a suicide bomber. He has also mentioned the name of the detainee Daria. However, he refused to disclose her surname "in the interests of the investigation."

Observers do not rule out provocation in history of detention of failed suicide bomber

Local representatives of public organizations treat the information about the detention in Grozny of "the woman-terrorist from Moscow" with distrust. According to them, it can be a provocation.

"This case contains a lot of inconsistencies and unclear circumstances. On the proposal of some unidentified woman a woman-resident of Moscow went to Chechnya from Moscow to find militants and take training to become a suicide bomber. Meanwhile, the woman's surname is not disclosed, and it is stated that the woman, who had recruited her, was not the resident of Chechnya. How can they know such details and why in this case did they fail to detain the woman-recruiter of suicide bombers, acting in Moscow?" says a representative of one of the local human rights organizations, who preferred to remain anonymous, in his conversation with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
