11 families of refugees from Chechnya are on a hunger strike in the territory of "Promzhilbaza",the town of Karabulak, Ingushetia. 88 families reside there but only 16 out of them are displaced persons from Chechen Republic and have a right to live there. This was declared by a representative of the Ministry of external relations, national policy, press and information of Ingushetia. Besides, not all the tenants of "Promzhilbaza" support the participants of the action of protest.

The refugees from Chechnya, who are on hunger strike in the temporary accommodation centre (TAC) "Promzhilbaza" in the city of Karabulak in Ingushetia, have reported about threats they receive from the authorities of Chechnya and Ingushetia. According to the protesters, armed persons are permanently patrolling the TAC; they make tours, film everything by video cameras and write down the passport details of the hunger-strikers.

The refugees or internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Chechnya, residing in the territory of the "Promzhilbaza" (in the city of Karabulak), declare their readiness to start a hunger strike on September 20. In total, 30 persons intend to take part in the protest action.

Criminal proceedings against Zara Murtazalieva, a native of Chechnya, were unlawful, and the court pronounced an unfair decision. During eight months of this year, Chechen drugs police officers seized from illegal trafficking 22 kilograms and 244 grams of narcotic and potent substances. During the last year, in the territory of the republic, about 17 kilograms of narcotic substances were seized.

Berlin hosted the discussion "Life in Northern Caucasus", which brought together human rights activists from the three regions of the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) Dagestan, Chechnya, and Kabardino-Balkaria. The human rights activists described the problems of extremism, cronyism, fabrication of criminal cases and actions of officials.
