Terror act in Ingushetia was committed by ChSU graduate

The Chechen native Khusein Idilov, who committed on August 19 a terror act in the Malgobek District of Ingushetia, was the son of a MIA officer and a graduate of the Chechen State University (ChSU), said a source from law enforcement bodies of Chechnya.

According to the source, several years ago Khusein Idilov, 29, graduated from the Correspondence Division of the Department of Journalism of the ChSU, but never worked as journalist since.

"He worked for some time as a militiaman; and since 2010 he was on the federal search list for participation in illegal armed formations (IAFs). His father Khamzat Idilov, a staff MIA officer, had worked for 20 years as a law enforcer; and since 2000 he worked at the OVD (Interior Division) of the city of Argun; and two years later he was appointed the head of the OVD. In 2007, Khamzat Idilov was shot dead under still unclear circumstances by federal law enforcers. Now, the Idilov family has the mother and two adult daughters left," said the source from Chechnya.

According to his story, before the start of the second military campaign in Chechnya, the Idilov family lived in the Chelyabinsk Region, where Khamzat worked in the militia. In 2000, he was sent to continue his service at the temporary OVD of Argun; and then he moved his family to Chechnya.

After the execution of Khamzat Idilov, he was declared to be a militant, said another friend of the Idilov family. "But later, after clearing out the circumstances, militaries announced that they mistook him for a robber who was trying to get into someone's house, and had to use the firearms. It is clear that after working for 20 years for the police, the officer would have never set any contacts with the militants. However, his son, as it seems, had stuck to a different viewpoint. Despite the fact that he also had worked for some time in the militia, he joined militants and even became a suicide bomber," said the friend.

So far, no comments have been received from Khusein Idilov's relatives.
