No less than 21 persons became victims of armed confrontation in Northern Caucasus during the period from September, 10, till September, 16

Last week, September, 10 to September, 16, 2012, no less than 21 persons became victims of armed confrontation in Northern Caucasus. 15 out of them perished and six got wounded. These are the totals of calculation by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

Five law enforcement officers are among those lost, all of them perished in Dagestan. Six members of powers ministries got injured: five in Dagestan and one in North Ossetia. Nine supposed members of paramilitary groups were killed: seven in Dagestan and one in North Ossetia. One civilian perished in Dagestan.

Assaults at law enforcement personnel

On September, 13, one policeman perished and two more got wounded as a result of firing at Road Patrol Service squad in Khasavyurt district of Dagestan. The incident took place in Khasavyurt - Gadari highway. The injured persons were taken to hospital.

Armed confrontations

On September, 15, as a result of armed confrontation in the suburbs of the settlement of Khutry, Tsuntinsky district of Dagestan, five supposed gunmen were killed, among them leader of "Tsuntinsky" armed group. One law enforcement officer perished in a special operation. Four policemen got wounded, one of them died.

On September, 13, a soldier of riot squad got wounded as a result of armed confrontation with a group of gunmen near the settlement of Balakhani, Untsukul district of Dagestan.

Explosions and acts of terror

On September, 15, a soldier of contract service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation got wounded as a result of blasting on a trip-wire mine in a woodland of Tsumadinsky district of Dagestan.

Counter-terrorist operations (CTO)

On September, 11, CTO regime was enacted in Prigorodny district of North Ossetia. On September, 12, law enforcement officers killed two supposed gunmen in North Ossetia during an armed confrontation near the administrative border with Ingushetia, a serviceman got injured.

On September, 13, members of power ministries blocked a group of gunmen in Kizliyar district of Dagestan, a serviceman was wounded in this armed confrontation. Two gunmen were killed, among them leader of "Kizliyar" gangsters' group, law enforcement officers reported.

Detentions and surrenders

On September, 9, four residents of Khasavyurt came to the police as self-reported criminals and confessed to participation in a paramilitary group (PMG). One more resident of Dagestan confessed to complicity in the gunmen's activities.

On September, 11, law enforcement officers detained a thirty-seven-years-old resident of Grozny district of Chechnya for accusation of aiding to members of PMG.

On September, 11, a resident of Nalchik born in 1984 was detained in Kabardino-Balkaria. A home-made hand grenade with a detonating fuse was found on him.

On September, 13, law enforcement officers in Khasavyurt district of Dagestan persuaded a local resident who according to their information rendered aid to members of "Khasavyurt" subversive terrorist group to come as self-reported criminal.

On September, 13, a resident of Grozny suspected of murder of an officer of State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Chechnya on February, 23, was detained. The man made confessionary statements.

On September, 13, members of power ministries detained a man suspected of aiding to members of armed underground in Vedeno district of Chechnya.

On September, 15, the police detained a man in Urus-Martan district of Chechnya in whose car firearms were found.

Disappearances of people

Two residents of Dagestan from Khunzakhsky and Alhtynsky districts appealed to the police reporting disappearance of their relatives in Makhachkala and the settlement of Khriug on September, 10, and 5, respectively.

On September, 14, a group of unidentified people kidnapped a policeman in Khasavyurt district. The policeman was found during operational search actions.

Assaults as civilians

In the evening of September, 14, unidentified persons in the town of Derbent, Dagestan, shot down businessman Feruz Agaev and escaped.
