The terrorist who had planted a bomb, which was triggered on May 1 in the hippodrome in the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria, was killed on August 28 in Nalchik as a result of a special operation, said Vladimir Markin, spokesman of the Investigatory Committee at the Prosecutor's Office (ICPO) of the Russian Federation.

An anonymous letter was placed on one of Ingush websites published an anonymous letter, stating a threat to the life of Magomed Mutsolgov, head of the Ingush human rights organization "Mashr" from President of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov. Kaloi Akhilgov, Mr Evkurov's press secretary, treated the letter as "a raving." Mutsolgov himself says that he does not believe in reality of the threats, but does not rule out possible provocations against him and Evkurov.

Two women fell down from the ropeway in the resort village of Dombay in Karachai-Circassia. One of them died, the other was seriously injured. The accident happened on October 2, and on October 4 it became known that one of the tourists - Olga Lyubimova, 40, a resident of the city of Elektrostal, Moscow Region, died from received traumas.
