The Panel on Criminal Cases of the Russian Supreme Court has upheld the sentence of life imprisonment to Rinat Salekhov, former head of the department for combating organized crime (known as "UBOP") at the UVD (Interior Department) for the Astrakhan Region, for organizing a criminal grouping and committing especially grave crimes.

On February 15, the Ukrainian authorities satisfied the request of the General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) of Russia to give out Vladimir Alexeev, who is accused of murdering several persons in the village of Kuschevskaya, Krasnodar Territory. This was announced by Marina Gridneva, spokesperson of the GPO. The detainee was extradited to Russia, along with Vyacheslav Ryabtsev, on February 9.

Details are becoming known of the special operation conducted on the administrative border of the Stavropol Territory and Karachay-Cherkessia, near the village of Belomechetskaya. In the course of the operation, four fighters of the OMON (Special Militia) of the Stavropol Territory received heavy gunshot wounds, one serviceman was lost. Power agents of Karachay-Cherkessia have no losses or victims.

The ICRF does not rule out that Vitaly Razdobudsko could be the suicide bomber who committed the terror acts on February 14 near the militia post in the Dagestani village of Gubden; while the terror act committed three hours earlier in the same village near the militia station - was the work of his wife Maria Khorosheva.
