Stavropol OMON fighters suffer in special operation on Karachay-Cherkessian border

Details are becoming known of the special operation conducted on the administrative border of the Stavropol Territory and Karachay-Cherkessia, near the village of Belomechetskaya. In the course of the operation, four fighters of the OMON (Special Militia) of the Stavropol Territory received heavy gunshot wounds, one serviceman was lost. Power agents of Karachay-Cherkessia have no losses or victims.

Let us remind you that it was earlier reported that five persons were killed on the border with the Stavropol Territory; on February 4, they attacked the convoy of MIA of Karachay-Cherkessia.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by Evgenia Bostanova, head of the press service of the MIA of Karachay-Cherkessia, that the suspects, who, according to power agents, are members of illegal armed formations "were found in the dugout in the forest near Belomechetskaya, on the border of Karachay-Cherkessia with the Stavropol Territory."

"The militants were armed and rendered resistance," she said.

Ms Bostanova has confirmed that on February 4 the militants, liquidated in the course of the special operation, namely, Aidemir Alakaev, Zurab Dumenov, Marat Kivalov and Mussa Aibazov, organized an attack on the MIA convoy near the village of Adyge-Khable; the fifth casualty was Ruslan Suleimanov, whom they had released during the attack.
