The Azerbaijani authorities did not react to the complaints of the Armenian Apostolic Church and Yerevan about the graffiti on the walls of the cathedral in Shushi. Armenia treats the above graffiti as an example of the targeted destruction of the Armenian cultural heritage in Nagorno-Karabakh. Baku accuses Armenia of desecrating Muslim cemeteries and mosques.

During the autumn battles in Nagorno-Karabakh, hundreds of Armenian soldiers were missed in action, and about 2400 others were recognized as deceased, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan reported. The Kazanchetsots Cathedral in Shushi was desecrated after the city was captured by Azerbaijani troops, the Armenian Apostolic Church (AAC) has claimed. The Armenian Ministry of Culture has treated the incident as vandalism and called on international organizations to protect cultural monuments in Nagorno-Karabakh.

To build a new road across the Lachin Corridor to ensure communication of Nagorno-Karabakh with Armenia, a preliminary border demarcation is needed, which will depend not so much on maps as on the actions of topographic groups on the ground, the geographers interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" believe.
