Azerbaijan starts reconstructing reservoir in Sugovushan
The first rehabilitation phase of the Sugovushan reservoir has begun. After reconstruction, it will provide 96 hectares of arable land with water, said Rafig Aslanov, deputy chairman of the Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC) "Melioration and Water Management".

Footballer's apologies for "Akhmat" players coincide with political situation in Chechnya

Baku and Yerevan resume talks on POW return
At Russia's mediation, Armenia and Azerbaijan have resumed negotiations on the return of six Armenian soldiers detained at the border. Arsen Torosyan, the head of the Armenian Prime Minister's Office, has expressed hope for a positive outcome of the discussions in Moscow.

In Armenia, investigators disclose details of case on storage of soldiers’ remains
A case on the improper storage of the dead bodies of the Armenian soldiers killed during the combat actions in the autumn of 2020 is being investigated under the article on abuse of power. After the war, the number of forensic medical examinations rose sharply and there was not enough space for storing dead bodies, an expert explained.

ECtHR refuses to request maps of minefields from Armenia
The Azerbaijan’s authorities sent a complaint to the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) about the Armenia’s refusal to provide maps of minefields in the territories that came under the control of Azerbaijan. The ECtHR rejected the request to apply measures to secure the complaint, the Armenian representative unit at the European Court reports.

Two journalists die in Azerbaijan at mine explosion

Nine supporters of boarding school pupils in Ninotsminda detained

Human rights defenders demand to suspend an orphan boarding school in Ninotsminda
Several criminal cases are under investigation in connection with violence against inmates of an orphan boarding school in the town of Ninotsminda, the Ombudsperson of Georgia reports. The brutal punishments of children at the orphan boarding school had been reported earlier, but the authorities did not react, human rights defenders note.

The “Caucasian Knot" publishes the agreement on the establishment of peace and interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which was initialed by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on August 8, 2025, through the mediation of US President Donald Trump.
