Neurologist treats Saakashvili's health condition as critical

Mikheil (Mikhail) Saakashvili's illness is progressing; his condition causes fear for the politician's life, a neurologist from the "Empathy" Centre has stated. US and Swiss doctors will join the examination of the ex-president of Georgia, his advocate has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Saakashvili's supporters demanded to transfer him to a foreign clinic for treatment after on April 27, doctors announced that his health was deteriorating. On May 12, Saakashvili was transferred from prison to a Tbilisi clinic, after which Georgian authorities ruled out Saakashvili's transfer for treatment abroad.

"We didn't visit [Saakashvili] for almost a month... He had no difficulties with speech and walking to the extent that he has today... This is a disease of the third gravity degree, penultimate, that is, before death," the "InterPressNews" has quoted Otar Toidze, a neurologist from the "Empathy" Centre, as stating.

Let us remind you that on February 21, 2022, Saakashvili went on a new endless hunger strike demanding to provide him with proper treatment, but on March 10, he interrupted the action, and on March 13, he said that doctors in Tbilisi had examined him and confirmed the presence of serious illnesses.
