Five witnesses in the murder case of five people in Kizlyar, who were to take part in today's court session, were detained at the exit from the city and taken to the police division, said Sapiyat Magomedova, the lawyer for the victims; however, police say they have no information about the detainees.

A native of the city of Derbent, Republic of Dagestan, became a figurant in the case of the use of violence to a policeman near Moscow, after he dragged a road inspector, who demanded his driver's license, by his car along the road, said the ICRF. A campaign is on in the Internet of collecting signatures to the petition in protest against the "List of Terrorists and Extremists" released by the "Rosfinmonitoring" (Russian Federal Service for Financial Monitoring), that is, a list of citizens, deprived of the right to use the Russia's banking system. The petition, addressed to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and the Russian Ombudsman, has gathered 277 signatures.

The testimonies of witnesses and defendants indicate that the criminal case against Rasul Kudaev, accused of involvement in the attack on Nalchik, had been fabricated, since the alibi of Kudaev was confirmed by several witnesses, his lawyers said in the debates. Military sappers have completed this year's mission of clearing farmland in Chechnya. The plan has been exceeded; and in total, over 2200 hectares of land were cleaned of mines and explosive devices, said the military commandant of Chechnya. In Armenia, the Commission on Alternative Service has accepted applications of 72 Jehovah's Witnesses, who want to take civilian alternative service instead of military one, including 20 satisfied applications filed by believers, who had served prison sentences for refusing to take their military service on religious grounds. The time period spent by them in prisons will be credited to the period of their alternative service.
