The founder of the mineral water producing company "Nabeglavi", Mikhail Svimonishvili, called the claims about quality, which led to the ban on the import of water to Russia, nonsense.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on October 10, Rospotrebnadzor banned the import and sale of Georgian alcohol and drinks from a number of producers, including mineral water "Nabeglavi", explaining the decision by violations of quality requirements.

The founder of the company "Tskali Margebeli", which produces mineral water "Nabeglavi", Mikhail Svimonishvili sharply commented on the ban on the import of water to Russia. "If they don't need my good "Nabeglavi", what should I do, I won't kill myself," he said, as quoted by "Georgia Online" on October 11.

"Nabeglavi is loved by everyone in Georgia, and that is the most important thing. Russia has never been a dominant market for me," he added.

According to Svimonishvili, the reason for the ban stated by Rospotrebnadzor is "nonsense". "This nonsense about quality. We don't know anything else <...> Our position from the very beginning is serious market diversification. We continue to work," he summarized.

Let us remind you that the supplies of mineral water and wine from Georgia to Russia were banned in the spring of 2006. The official reason for the ban was the claims of Rospotrebnadzor regarding the quality of goods. In February 2013, a group of specialists from Rospotrebnadzor visited Georgia for the first time to check the quality of products from enterprises that expressed readiness to supply wine and mineral water to Russia. Following the inspection, it became known that about 200 types of wine could be presented by Georgian enterprises for registration in the Russian Federation, as well as the well-known brand of water "Borjomi".
